Kings Canyon is part of the Watarrka National Park and sits approximately halfway between Alice Springs and Uluru.
The Watarrka National Park is a beautiful scenic landscape of rugged ranges and gorges that are a haven for native flora and fauna. Kings Canyon, the jewel in Watarrka’s crown, boasts soaring sandstone walls that have been sculptured by the elements over millions of years. The Luritja Aboriginal people have called the Watarrka National Park area home for more than 20,000 years and the land holds much cultural significance to its traditional owners.
ATG Downunder can arrange day trips to Watarrka National Park, complete with expert commentary and refreshments. ATG Downunder guides can organise group walks through the creek of the canyon at sunrise or sunset or even take the more challenging six kilometer Kings Canyon Rim Walk. The views from the top are spectacular and the guided rim walk with your tour guide is a great way to learn about the significance and history of the vast, ancient landscape.
