The Cape Leeuwin lighthouse is a history-buff’s dream, standing tall over the treacherous meeting point of the Indian and Southern Oceans. Built in 1895 the Cape Leeuwin area is rich in maritime history and a climb to the summit of the lighthouse gives a gorgeous panorama of the Indian and Southern Ocean from Australia’s most southwesterly point.
The popular South West towns of Busselton and Dunsborough is a great place to wind down and enjoy the coastal town vibe. Yallingup and Gracetown, just 15 minutes from Dunsborough are some of the best surfing spots in the world attracting hundreds of world class surfers every year. Dunsbourgh is also a fantastic place for “whale watching”, with Southern Right and Humpback whales breeding and playing in the Geographe Bay region from September to December.
